Water Baptism:
|

Matthew 28:19
Acts 2:41

It is a command from our Lord to baptize in water those that we have taught about Jesus. Of course they have to be old
enough to receive the Word and Jesus as Lord.

|
|
Notice that it didn't take years before someone
was baptized in water. It was after they believed
|
|
Acts 10:46-48
|
Notice that they were baptized with the Holy Spirit
before they were baptized in water.
|
|
Romans 6:3-4
|
When we get baptized in water, we share so to speak
with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. When I go in the water the old me dies with Christ and is buried. Just
as it took the power of God to raise Christ from the dead, so as I come out of the water, the new me, the new man must get
its strength from the power of God through the Holy Spirit!

I Corinthians 12:13

When I am baptized in water, I come to see that
I am made a part of the Body of Christ. Now you are connected with all those who have put their trust in Christ. If you haven't
been baptized in water, you should let the Pastor know and do it soon as possible.

It was prophesied that the Holy Spirit would be poured
out on all men, woman, and children. It was foretold that there would be a sign of its reception, "stammering lips, and
another tongue."

Jesus is the one who does the Baptizing with the Holy
Spirit. It is given by our Heavenly Father. So if they are both involved, it must be something good for us. Jesus commanded
His disciples to wait until they received it. Therefore are we better than Jesus' disciples and shouldn't we receive
it.

It is so that we receive God's power in our life.

In both cases, when they received the baptism with the Holy Spirit, they also spoke with other tongues. They did the speaking,
but the Spirit gave the utterance.

Here is a prayer you can pray to receive the
Baptism with the Holy Spirit..."Jesus, Baptize me with the Holy Spirit and I will speak with tongues as the
Holy Spirit gives me the words."
